When considering therapy and my rates, please be sure to note that my interventions are brief and transformative. If you have been referred to me by a friend or relative, consider their progress. I do not make the rates as a normal week to week individual might, the change that can occur, is far beyond what you see in traditional talk therapy and can prove to be invaluable.

All interns are overseen by Candice, and treatment plans are approved by her. They are in the final steps of their training and certification. All interns undergo thorough vetting to ensure they are the right hand of Candice and align with her standards and practices.
It is encouraged that all of our neurofeedback patients purchase a package of 10 to find the most benefit from a consistent sequence in their protocols. In the event that our patients do not complete a full package, a reimbursement will be provided for the remaining sessions. The neurofeedback credit can also remain on the patient's account and can be used at their leisure for ongoing support.
Trauma is a life threatening or perceived life threatening event that leaves an individual with a sense of helplessness along with fear, horror, or disgust. Such events might include being in a car accident, house fire, or natural disaster; being raped; or being assaulted. Childhood abuse and molestation and or witnessing any of these events, death of a loved one and or being diagnosed with a life threatening illness. These are all classified as big "T" traumas. There are other types of trauma that affect an individual on a smaller scale, but still create impairment and these are called little "t" traumas. These can include things like performance anxiety, stage freight, phobias (such as) fear of snakes, or heights or enclosed places. EMDR is an effective and result driven therapy to help you find relief
Approximately 20 controlled studies have investigated the effects of EMDR. These studies have consistently found that EMDR effectively decreases/eliminates the symptoms of post traumatic stress for the majority of clients. Clients often report improvement in other associated symptoms such as anxiety. The current treatment guidelines of the American Psychiatric Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies designate EMDR as an effective treatment for post traumatic stress. EMDR was also found effective by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, the United Kingdom Department of Health, the Israeli National Council for Mental Health, and many other international health and governmental agencies. Research has also shown that EMDR can be an efficient and rapid treatment.
An initial session is typically an intake interview in which a history is taken, and objectives are clarified. Then a photosensitivity assessment is usually conducted in order to evaluate your unique responsively to light and color so that light stimulation can be custom-tailored to maximize its effects for you. When ETT is conducted, typically a dim (less than 150 lux) light of specific wavelengths of color is emitted directly into your eyes. This light blinks at rates that encourage brainwave states to emerge that are optimal for certain counseling objectives. A counseling process of interactive guidance takes place during the light stimulation. When light stimulation and expressive interaction take place at the same time, it has the effect of heightening awareness and generally speeding up all of counseling far beyond typical face to face talk therapy. You will be in control at all times, but by participating in guided procedures involving talk, eye movement and certain types of breathing, powerful emotional changes usually occur. Many people have been traumatized by an accident, loss of a loved one, a rape, etc. and continue to have physical tension, nightmares or depression. When you are in that position, it is no longer true that since the event cannot be changed, you are stuck with the bad feelings about the event. The fact is, with ETT, the emotion about the event can be changed. This makes all the difference because the memory of the event usually becomes neutral when the emotions are really resolved
You are worth the time, effort and money required for treatment. Invest in you and you will not be disappointed. My intensive outpatient programs provide clients with a means of addressing the roots of a myriad of difficulties in a brief and effective manner. In the one or two weeks of treatment, each person receives individualized treatment based on his or her specific past circumstances and present symptoms and challenges. Throughout the time of treatment past traumatic events are strategically processed so that they are experienced as past. Integration work affords clients a much greater ability to choose behaviors, situations and circumstances through a positive sense of self. I use a multi dimensional approach in order to help clients express themselves. There are many unique and intricate ways that victims of trauma will communicate effectively than by merely using words.
If you would like greater freedom in your life and relationships with God, yourself, and others, then this treatment is for you. Trauma affects us – even in ways we aren’t able to realize. We can minimize how much we view our trauma as affecting us on an unfortunate scale of comparison. The experience of trauma is determined by the perception of the individual and varies greatly from person to person – even within a family. Often times, survivors have a sense that past events are somehow at the root of their pain, but are unable to definitively get past those events and how those thoughts and feelings linger. We provide effective, research-proven help in an intensive, outpatient format that affords clients the opportunity to reclaim their selves and their lives.
Events that overwhelm our normal ability to cope can have lasting, detrimental effects on us. The reason is that these difficult events become encoded in such a way that they continue to feel like they are happening. These experiences can lead to physical illnesses, symptoms or triggers.
Many emotional problems can also result from trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, phobias, anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, and more. Many people suffer for years – even decades – with suicidal thoughts, self-mutilation, flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, terrible insecurities, and a sense of inferiority.
It is a tragic reality that many devout people live with ongoing pain and crippling doubt that robs them of true freedom to embrace a life of faith, hope, and love. Unfortunately, the spiritual effects of trauma are not readily recognized. This often leaves the survivors feeling a tremendous sense of shame. However, these symptoms of shame and difficulty in trusting, forgiving, receiving love, or even believing oneself to be worthy of love are also quite treatable.
